IAAF Kids' Athletic Upskilling course
From mid-2015, Sporting Schools will become Australia's largest school based participation programme for children providing a supportive environment to foster a lifelong connection with sport. Sporting Schools, formally Active After-school Communities, aims to encourage more children to participate in sport.
Schools will be provided with grant funding for up to 3 terms per year to engage with accredited coaches in their choice of 32 approved national sporting organisation sporting school programmes. The Athletics Program that will be delivered as part of the Sporting Schools programme is the IAAF Healthy Active Kids’ Athletics program. All coaches who would like to deliver the Athletics program in the Sporting Schools space are required to undertake the IAAF Kids' Athletics for Sporting Schools Upskilling program.
This upskilling course will train coaches and teachers in how to deliver the IAAF Kids’ Athletics program in the sporting schools model, including how to plan, progress the activities and run the final week Kids’ Athletics team event.
It is an engaging course with a mix of practical and theory and will provide coaches excellent skills in delivering an inclusive and fun athletics program for Primary aged children.

Venue: WA Athletics Stadium - Meet in the Boardroom upstairs of Aisle 2
